On April 22, 2005 our hearts were forever changed. We received our
referral for our new baby girl. We were thrilled at her beauty and the way she looked as though she belonged to
us already. (This shouldn't have been a surprise since we've been praying for her for over a year.)
Hattie Ann is in the Social Welfare Institute of Xiushan County in the Chongqing
Municipality. She was found on the side of a road when she was just a few days old. Her given name (by her caregivers)
is Xiu Miao and her approximate birth date is April 6, 2004.
She seems to be very well cared for, which makes the wait much easier.
We hope to travel sometime in June to pick her up.
We will first travel to Beijing and then on to Chongqing, where we will then celebrate
Gotcha Day! We will spend our last few days in Guangzhou doing our legal paperwork at the American Consulate.
Her big brother, Logan, 10, is very excited to welcome her into the family.
